2008/2009 Call for Postdoctoral Fellowships
in Theoretical Physics, Theoretical Computer Science,
Mathematical Sciences and Life Sciences Interface
Closing Date: 4pm Tuesday 30 September 2008
Introduction
EPSRC is offering Postdoctoral Fellowships in theoretical physics, theoretical computer
sciences, mathematical sciences and life sciences interface to enable the most talented
new researchers to establish an independent research career, shortly or immediately
after completing a PhD. The awards are for a period of up to three years and primarily
cover the salary costs of the Fellow, travel and subsistence.
Programme Remits and Enquiries
All proposals should be submitted under the Postdoctoral Fellowships Call. Please include
a covering letter as an attachment to your application stating whether you think your
proposal should be considered as a physics, ICT, mathematical sciences or an LSI
submission; EPSRC will consider this when assigning applications to the appropriate
programme area. Proposals outside the remit of theoretical physics, theoretical
computer science, mathematical sciences or life sciences interface will be rejected before
peer review. Each programme has dedicated funds for this call and so proposals will be
considered in competition with the other proposals within that programme and not across
the whole fellowships call.
