UNIVERSITY OF BRISTOL
International Recruitment Office Scholarships - 2008/2009 for undergraduate students
We have a number of scholarships available, up to a maximum of £2,000 per year of study, for high-achieving undergraduate students (overseas fee payers). Scholarships are allocated to students from a number of different countries, which are nominated on a rotational basis.

No more than one scholarship will be awarded per country, per year for medical students. There is no need to make a separate application for these scholarships as all eligible students who have firmly accepted a place at Bristol by 6 June 2008 will automatically be considered.

For 2008 entry, applicants who are overseas fee payers and resident in the following regions will be considered (subject to firmly accepting their offer at Bristol by 6 June 2008): Tanzania, Hong Kong, USA, Latin America, Thailand, Kenya, Vietnam, India, Sri Lanka, Mauritius,Canada

International Undergraduate Scholarships
This year’s undergraduate scholarships are available to students living in the following areas: Tanzania, USA, Latin America, Thailand, Kenya, Vietnam, India, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Singapore, Mauritius and Canada and who are liable to pay the overseas tuition fee. These countries will be reviewed on an annual basis, and the University reserves the right to award additional scholarships to students from countries not listed.

1. Applicants who have firmly accepted their offer from Bristol via UCAS, by the 6 June 2008 will automatically be considered for the scholarship and need not take any further action.
2. Applicants who have deferred entry will be considered for the scholarships in May of the year they commence their studies at Bristol.
3. Current undergraduate University of Bristol students are not eligible to apply.
4. Scholarships will be awarded to the students who have demonstrated the most outstanding academic achievement. All aspects of the UCAS form may be used in the decision making process.
5. Students will be notified in late September or early October if they have been successful and there will be a ceremony held later in the academic year to celebrate the awards.
6. Scholarships are awarded by the ‘International Recruitment Office Scholarships’ Panel and all decisions are final.
7. The scholarship amount will be deducted directly from the tuition fees of the award winners, and will be paid each year for the duration of the undergraduate programme, subject to satisfactory academic progress.
8. Applicants awarded the scholarships must agree to provide a student profile to be used in University of Bristol publications, and will be invited to attend an award ceremony held in the first semester of the first year.
