PhD Studentships 2008
To attract more high quality PhD students to King’s, the School of Social Science and Public Policy will award a number of Research Studentships to qualified applicants through open competition.
Eligibility
Applications will be accepted from students of any nationality who have applied for or have already been accepted for 2008/09 admission to either full- or part-time MPhil/PhD study in any department in the School. In addition, applications will also be accepted from currently enrolled MPhil/PhD students who have not applied previously for an SSPP studentship.
Value of Award
Studentships are designed to provide a level of support broadly comparable to that offered by the Economic & Social Research Council.
Awards to full-time students will provide tuition fees at the Home/EU rate (in 2007/08, £3,240) and an annual stipend (tax-free) of approximately £14,000 for three years of full-time study (or for the remainder of their 3 years of FTE study in the case of students already enrolled). Part-time awards will provide tuition fees at the Home/EU rate for six years (or for the remainder of their 3 years of FTE study in the case of students already enrolled).
Application Procedure
Students who have already submitted the Graduate School Funding Application to the Graduate School need not make a separate application for an SSPP studentship. You will automatically be considered for an SSPP studentship based on your previously submitted Graduate School Funding Application.
Other students will need to fill in the attached SSPP Studentship Funding Application Form and submit it to your Department of registration by 4 April 2008.
