Admission to Undergraduate Programs 2008
Qualification of Applicants

Applicants for Undergraduate Programs should be foreign citizens under 25, and at least have:

* Graduated of senior high school
* Passed the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) Band 6

Materials to be submitted for application

* The completed Foreigner’s Application Form for Admission to Undergraduate Programs of Tsinghua University
* Original or notarized photocopies of senior high school certificate and schooling records
* Certificate of HSK Band 6 or the notarized photocopy
* Certificate of expected graduation issued by senior high school (for the applicants to be graduated from senior high school 2008)
* Two copies of applicant’s recent photo (cap-free, 2-inch size)
* Completed Recommendation Letter from senior high school/institution
* A photocopy of passport (pages with photo, visa or residence permit)
* For applicants who are studying in a university, additional materials are required, such as schooling records, on-going study certificate and recommendation from the university

The applicants may be required to submit supplimentary materials.

The application materials may be presented by the applicant him/herself to the Foreign Student Affairs Office (Room 0118, Zijing Building 22#), Tsinghua University. If the materials are presented by other people, it should be guaranteed that the application form be completed and signed by the applicant him/herself.
Application for Chinese Government Scholarship

Applicants may apply to the government departments in charge of overseas study affairs in their home country, related organizations or Chinese embassies. The application time is between February and April. Please check the website of China Scholarship Council (CSC at http://www.csc.edu.cn) for details.
Entrance Examination

After the application materials have been reviewed and approved by the Foreign Student Affairs Office of Tsinghua University, applicants will be required to take the entrance examination held by Tsinghua University. Science, Engineering and Management applicants shall take exams of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English paper test . Architecture applicants shall take an exam of Sketch in addition. Social sciences, humanities and Law applicants shall take exams of Basic Chinese, Chinese Writing, General Knowledge and English paper test. Applicants for English Department shall take oral exams of English in addition. Arts applicants shall take exams of Sketch, Quick Sketch and Color Painting. Mathematics exam is also required by some majors in social science and humanities.

Dates of Entrance Examination: May 17th-18th, 2008

In-person interview (or oral exam) is requested by some departments/schools, and the applicants who need to be interviewed will be notified after written exams.

Admission: In early July of 2008, the admitted applicants will be notified, and Admission Notice and Visa Application for Study in China will be issued.
