Postdoctoral Fellow - ATLAS
The Indiana University High Energy group on the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) seeks an outstanding applicant for a postdoctoral fellowship, beginning immediately or at a negotiated time. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in High Energy Particle Physics demonstrating experience in physics analysis, as well as in detector hardware, electronics, or computing; preferably on a colliding beam experiment. The successful applicant will be expected to reside at CERN – ideal timing to be part of the excitement of LHC turn-on and first data taking.
The ATLAS Indiana group was responsible for the design and fabrication of the barrel transition radiation tracker (TRT) with continuing roles in the areas of online monitoring and commissioning. We also operate an ATLAS Tier 2 computing site at Indiana University in collaboration with the University of Chicago. Physics analysis efforts and interests presently include searches for invisible Higgs bosons, evidence of extra dimensions, and Supersymmetry. Successful candidates will be expected to work on both software and physics analysis with possibilities for future hardware work.
Applicants should send a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, a statement of research interests, and arrange to have at least three letters of recommendation sent to:
