Applications for Max Weber Fellowships 2008-2009
The deadline for applications for the academic year 2008-2009 has now past.
(25 October 2007)
Candidates can apply to only one of the EUI’s post-doctoral programmes
Applications should include the following documents:
Application form
Detailed Curriculum Vitae including a list of publications
Statement of career ambitions and research plans (1 - 3 pages) in which
the candidates should summarize their main research contributions and
interests, as well as their academic career plans. Reference should be
made to their fields of specialization and to their teaching experience.
No detailed research proposal is required.
Two letters of reference, which should be confidential and sent directly by
the referees to the EUI to arrive by the deadline 25 October.

Applications should be submitted online. If it is not possible for you to apply online please contact us well before the application deadline (contact details below).
We use a secure system in order to guarantee the full confidentiality and privacy of the documents submitted online.
Please note that the application documents will be kept for one year and will then be deleted.

The online application can not be submitted without CV and statement of career ambitions and research plans. Please have these ready to be attached before entering the link to fill in the application form.
All attached documents need to be either in RTF- or PDF-format. Other formats are not accepted, so please save word documents as RTF or PDF first.
Please use standard international fonts in your application documents and please do not use macros, special characters, or attachments protected by password.
Regarding the application form:
All fields must be filled in. If some of the fields are not relevant for your application please mark them with N/A. Blank fields are not accepted.
Some fields are limited in length. If the text entered goes beyond the maximum length, you will receive a message and you will be required to reduce the text.
Please make sure that you enter your family name [= surname] and first names into the correct fields.
Please do not fill in all fields in capital letters [= upper case].
Please check all documents carefully before pressing the Submit-button.
After having submitted your application you will receive a confirmation of receipt by e-mail.

A letter of reference from a current full-time or part-time EUI professor will not be accepted.

Selection criteria
Mainly excellence of research accomplishments and potential, and also
academic career interests (fit to Max Weber Programme as a multidisciplinary programme for academic advancement), and
availability of EUI faculty to provide meaningful mentorship (fit with the research interest of the EUI faculty)
After a review process by the Professors of the corresponding
Departments and the Director of the MWP, the Max Weber Programme
Steering Committee selects the candidates to whom offers are made, as
well as the reserve candidates to whom offers will be made should
selected candidates not accept them. The selection is finally approved
by the Executive Committee of the EUI. The decision is final and no appeal
is possible. All candidates are informed of the outcome of their applications
by e-mail or by post.
